Modeling and Experimental Studies on Carbon Dioxide Absorption with Sodium Hydroxide Solution in a Rotating Zigzag Bed

The enhancement of mass transfer is very important in CO2 absorption, and a rotating zigzag bed (RZB) promising device to intensify the gas–liquid efficiency. In this study, characteristics an RZB relation overall gas-phase volumetric mass-transfer coefficient (KGa) were investigated with CO2–NaOH system. A mathematical model was established illustrate mechanism irreversible pseudo-first-order reaction RZB. effects various operating conditions on KGa examined. Experimental results show that rise liquid flow rate, inlet gas rotational speed, absorbent temperature, concentration conducive between It found speed had largest impact predicted by agreed well experiments, deviations generally within 10%.
